Part of the NGV’s Architecture Commission for 2022, ‘Temple of Boom’ from Adam Newman and Kelvin Tsang at the Exhibition Gardens features a modern interpretation of the ancient Greek Parthenon. The installation comes adorned with paintings and overlapping artworks to showcase a more contemporary and thought-provoking attitude to current buildings. “The Parthenon in Athens is often viewed as a potent symbol of Western art and culture, this work…invites us to consider how we create and imbue architecture with meaning”, says NGV Director Tony Ellwood. The installation is on display until October 2023.
