We appreciate that changes of plan can be frequent during the pandemic. With this in mind, we have relaxed our cancellation policies until further notice.
Hotel Claremont and Apartments of South Yarra will allow refunds or permit any last minute cancellations without charge, if they are due to any Covid-restrictions that may be placed upon travel or accommodation by Australian State or Federal Authorities.
In addition, the hotel will permit last minute cancellations due to Covid-based illness or quarantine requirements. (In case of illness or quarantine, proof may be requested.)
Our standard cancellation policy, has been reduced to 24 hours notice. Cancellations from 2pm on the day before the date of your arrival will incur one night’s charge (outside of any Covid-based circumstances).
At Hotel Claremont, the health and safety of our guests and staff has always been and will continue to be our top priority. During the pandemic, we have updated our already-thorough cleaning guidelines with additional precautions.
We are complying with guidelines set by the Victorian State Government. We have been accredited as a Covid-Clean Practicing Business, meeting all requirements for cleanliness and Covid-safe working. Please contact us if you require additional information about our preventative measures. We are confident in the ability of our team to welcome you safely, and thank you for your support.
All employees at the Hotel Claremont are subject to a daily health screening, which includes a temperature check. A daily log for each staff member is recorded and kept on the premises. Any employee with a temperature above 37.5 degrees will be asked to return home and seek medical care.
All employees have undergone training (available via the Victorian Tourism Industry Council) on COVID-19 regarding updated hygiene policies and general best practices. Continuous training will continue as required.
The housekeeping team has implemented additional protocols and precautions when cleaning and sanitising common areas, kitchen, corridors and guest rooms and bathrooms.
We will continue to utilise products by Amodet/Hangz (hospital grade) as effective disinfectants against COVID-19, throughout the hotel. We have increased full cleaning/sanitising of bathrooms to three times a day, and kitchen, public area cleaning to two deep cleans per day, and frequent extra sanitising in addition. A laundry protocol is in place.
For the safety of everyone, temperature checks may be taken upon initial arrival of guests, staff, trades and visitors. Hotel Claremont reserves the right to decline admittance to anyone with a temperature of 37.5 degrees or higher.
All guests are required to check-in via the Victoria Service App’s QR codes.
Longer stay residents are required to report for a temperature check, every four days. Guests and staff are protected at check-in via a plastic safety screen. Hand sanitiser is provided throughout the hotel, as well as sanitising wipe individual packs provided daily at reception.
All staff and guests are required to adhere to social distancing recommendations while in the hotel. Indicators have been placed and 1.5 metre distancing will be required in the lobby, kitchen and dining areas.
High touch surfaces are being deep-cleaned within guest rooms. As well as surface sanitising (with hospital grade disinfectant), guest rooms are sprayed with a neutralising disinfectant between each guest stay. (Group bookings will be place in rooms next to each other, with bathrooms being allocated solely to group.)
Our dining room will be arranged to meet current Victorian guidelines on social distancing. Please leave a seat empty between yourself and the next guest – unless it is someone you are sharing a room with.
A strict dress code applies in the dining room – shoes must be worn at all times. This a sanitary requirement, and is also to prevent any injury caused by spills and slippage, broken kitchenware items or glass.
All care is being taken during the cleaning and provisioning of Apartments of South Yarra. All protocols above will be followed where applicable. In addition, apartments receive a mini-clean and sanitisation every fourth day, and a full deep clean and sanitisation every seventh day (or upon guest checkout). All cleaning involves the use of Amodet/Hangz products, which are hospital grade disinfectants.
Apartment guests are requested to maintain social distancing requirements of 1.5 metres apart when using shared areas such as the carpark, guest laundry, and stairwells.
